According to legend, Eklavya's death was imminent as he would later have been a force to reckon with and would have wreaked havoc in Hastinapur. There are conflicting reports about whether Radha, Krishna's consort, was mentioned at all in ancient scriptures.
Krishna is said to have loved his consort, Radha to the point of devotion and many images show him worshipping her. But interestingly, many spiritualists have mentioned that there is no trace of her in any of the ancient scriptures; be it the Shrimad Bhagvatam or the Mahabharata or the Harivansham which is about Krishna's life. They argue that her name first cropped up in works of Acharya Nimbark and poet Jayadeva. Others argue that her name has been carefully concealed in scriptures like the Rigveda and some of the Puranas.
The Radha-Krishna relationship was used to legitimize premarital sex in modern India. In March , the Supreme Court declared that premarital sex was not an offence. The court argued that since Radha-Krishna lived together according to mythology, premarital sex cannot be construed as an offence. Krishna's death was the result of a number of curses and his own act of adharma against Vali.
Krishna died due to the culmination of many curses. As legend goes, Gandhari's curse on Krishna was that he would die with the entirety of his clan in 36 years. Krishna was cursed a second time by the sage Durvasa, when he was asked by him to apply kheer all over his body.
Krishna obeyed but did not apply kheer on Durvasa's feet as they were resting on the ground. Enraged, Durvasa cursed Krishna saying that his death would be by his foot. As the Yadava clan brought about their own destruction after Gandhari's curse, Lord Krishna went into yoga samadhi under a tree. Here, there are no images of Krishna.
He is accessed through chanting, singing, dancing and performances. In Tamil Nadu, Krishna is rarely distinguished from Vishnu. He inspired the collective of poets known as Alvars. In Kerala, about years ago, the Sanskrit poetry known as Narayaniyum was composed. It tells the story of the Bhagavata Purana in a very short form and it is popular in the Guruvayur temple. North India is completely unaware of these traditions. He wrestles and defeats demons, but there are no references to his pastoral roots.
Krishna is thus very different when seen through the lens of geography, as he is when seen through the lens of history. The Mahabharata is traditionally considered inauspicious because it deals with bloodshed and the break-up of a family.
The only auspicious part of the Mahabharata is the Bhagavad Gita , a summary of Hindu philosophy narrated by Krishna to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The Bhagavad Gita introduces us to bhakti yoga 2, years ago. The Bhagavata Purana elaborates it in fine detail nearly 1, years ago. In this period, local poets such as Meera of Rajasthan and Salabega of Odisha and Narsi Mehta of Gujarat and Vidyapati of Mithila and Tukaram of Maharashtra composed songs on Krishna, bringing him closer to the masses.
In their songs, stories of the Bhagavata Purana blended with the philosophy of Bhagavad Gita. Stories of Krishna abound in the Buddhist and Jain traditions. In the Jain Mahabharata , the battle is not between the Kauravas and Pandavas.
The battle is between Krishna of Dwaraka and Jarasandha, the emperor of Magadha, in which the Pandavas support Krishna and the Kauravas support Jarasandha. It is important to note that the Jain Mahabharata runs along the east-west axis of India: Jarasandha is in Magadha, in the east, and Krishna is in Dwaraka, in the west.
All of my other friends were in the same condition. Then they decided to leave to delhi without Bihari Ji darshan but I was having a deep wish to visit Bihari ji at vrindawan and offer gulal to him at holi occasion. I tried to persuade my friends but failed. But somehow I collected my courage and decided to move vrindawan alone. My friends dropped me at vrindawan marg. Huge crowd was there fortunately I was able to see Bihari ji from the varanda near entry gate.
But I was having a wish to play holi with Bihari ji by approaching to his jagmohan but my physical condition was not allowing me to do the same. He asked me to come to him then I went there he put some color on my face and I did the same and touched his feet and then he sang a rasiya and start dancing and I accompanied him as it was my heart wish to join the holi crowd and perform dance with them. After that I moved out from the temple as I moved out from the door a thought came in my mind I must check who was that person, as I turned back from the door to meet him again he disappeared from there.
I was not able to found him all over the temple. In that way, Bihari ji full filled my wish. There are numerous incidents happening daily with visitors of Vrindavan, some keep it to their heart others disclose it. This is true bhakti is still young in Vrindavan and Lord Krishna is seen several times playing flute, dancing around trees, caressing cows in Vrindavan even today.
