July 23, The boardwalk is full of one trashy shop after another selling stupid t-shirts about getting drunk and being "DTF", piercing and tattoo parlors and greasy pizza.
It may be long, but you can't tell one block from the other. Most of the people look like casting rejects from "Jersey Shore" and stroll about barely dressed so we can all admire their tattoos and piercings.
Not very friendly to families or your sensibilities. Morey's Piers was fun for a couple of evenings and my kids enjoyed the rides. There are lots for the younger kids to enjoy. None of the other attractions or the waterpsrks were open so I can't comment on those, although they looked like they would be fun. Wildwood Crest was quiet, has beautiful beaches and friendly people but no decent restaurants and nothing much to do.
Wildwood, though, is kinda trashy and if the parks are closed and you have all the stupid t shirts and tattoos you need I've been going to Wildwood for many years now and one of the best parts is visiting the Boardwalk. Full of exciting rides, water parks, good boardwalk food, events, and souvenir shops.
The tram car is the easiest way to experience the Wildwood boardwalk. And to be honest, this one if probably one of my favorites.
My husband and I have been going to Wildwood for several years now. The Wildwood Boardwalk is about 2 miles in length. It starts near the convention center and extends past the 3 Morey's Piers. And of course I have to mention the famous Wildwoods Sightseer Tramcar. Anyone who has been to Wildwood probably has "watch the tramcar please" burned into their brain. I know that is one of the 1st things that pops into my head when I hear someone mention Wildwood.
We have always enjoyed our visits to the Wildwood Boardwalk. We mostly go to visit Morey's Piers, but we also like to stroll the boardwalk, take in the sites and stop at the eateries.
You will see everything from Italian to pizza, cheesesteaks, gyros, candy, funnel cakes, fries, polis water ice, ice cream, seafood and hot dogs. A ride on the Great White Wooden Coaster, a bucket of fries from Curley's and an afternoon pass to the waterpark are a must for us! I did notice that lots of the shops sell men's swim trunks, but suprisingly most of them did not sell ladies bathing suits. So, ladies--don't forget your swim suit because there are only a few places that I found that sell women's bathing suits near the beach and they weren't always cheap.
Overall we have had great experiences with the Wildwood Boardwalk. There is plenty of walking room even on a crowded summer day. The boards are in decent condition, so you can feel safe. IF you do get tired of walking or have limitations, you can always hop on the tramcar that runs the boardwalk!
Wasn't impressed with Wildwood at all. We are staying in Brigantine and traveled down to Wildwood for the day. It is all tshirt stores and junk! Everyone says buy one get one free and then they try to rip you off Unless you are going for the rides, there is not much to see.
The beach looked horribly crowded and it looked like a mile long walk! It's been a few years since we vacationed in Wildwood, NJ. But we made last minute reservations and stayed a few days. No stay in Wildwood would be complete without a visit to the famous Wildwood Boardwalk. It's expansive, to say the least.
